Book Club² - "The Coin" by Yasmin Zaher

A book club discussion of *The Coin*, Yasmin Zaher's debut novel about a wealthy Palestinian woman navigating life in New York City. The narrator teaches at a middle school, gets tangled up in a Birkin bag reselling scheme, and grapples with questions of belonging, control, and what it means to be stateless in America.

Yasmin Zaher is a Palestinian-American writer whose debut explores the interior life of a woman caught between memory and material reality, between her homeland and the country that's supposed to be her home. The discussion will be led by Liv Stratman, author of *Cheat Day*. Expect a casual, conversational evening — the kind where you actually get to talk about what you thought.

Tickets include $8 off any drink at the bar. The rear half of the space is reserved for the book club; the front bar stays open to the public. Doors at 7:30 PM. Registration is capped, so sign up early if you're planning to come.
