Terms of Service
Last updated May 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Menna mobile app, our website (itsmenna.com), and any other service that links to these Terms (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by MENNA LLC ("Menna," "we," "our," or "us"), a New York limited liability company.
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who Can Use Menna
You must be at least 18 years old to use Menna. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
You may only maintain one active account. Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your affiliation with anyone is prohibited.
2. Account Registration & Security
You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your password confidential. Notify us at hello@itsmenna.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
3. The Service
Menna serves two related purposes:
- Editorial discovery, we curate cultural events and editorial content, primarily on itsmenna.com. Menna acts as a curator and discovery platform; for most listed events, we are not the organizer.
- Community meetups, members can host and join small, intimate meetups organized by other members. Menna is not the organizer of member-hosted meetups; we provide the platform that connects hosts and attendees.
4. Pricing
The Service is currently free to use. We do not charge for accounts, meetup hosting, meetup participation, or access to editorial content.
We may introduce paid features, subscriptions, or memberships in the future. If we do, we will clearly describe the plans, prices, and billing intervals in the app before you purchase, and your purchase will be subject to additional terms presented at that time (including auto-renewal, cancellation, and refund terms). Any paid features will be optional unless we tell you otherwise in advance.
Where payments are processed by Apple or Google, their respective in-app purchase, billing, and refund policies will apply. Menna is not able to issue refunds directly for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play.
5. Your Content
Some parts of the Service let you submit content, including profile text and images, meetup descriptions and photos, chat messages, and event submissions. We refer to all of this as "Your Content."
You keep ownership of Your Content. By submitting Your Content through the Service, you grant Menna a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt, and distribute Your Content as necessary to operate and improve the Service. For event submissions and similar editorial contributions, you also grant Menna the right to edit and to publish Your Content across our channels (including the newsletter and itsmenna.com).
Representations. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant the license above and that Your Content does not infringe anyone else's rights or violate any law.
Removal. We may remove Your Content if it violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
6. Member-Hosted Meetups
Meetups are organized and hosted by Menna members, not by Menna. When you host or attend a meetup, you do so at your own risk.
Hosts are responsible for the meetup they create, accurate information, communication with attendees, decisions on who to approve, and conduct at the meetup itself. Hosts may approve, decline, or cancel applications, and may cancel a meetup with reasonable notice.
Attendees who request to join agree to attend in good faith. Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may affect your ability to join future meetups.
Capacity. Meetups have a host-set capacity, currently capped at ten attendees. Bringing unregistered guests is not permitted.
In-person conduct. Conduct at meetups must follow our Community Guidelines. If you feel unsafe at a meetup, leave and contact us at hello@itsmenna.com.
Menna's role. Menna provides the platform that introduces hosts and attendees but does not supervise meetups in person, screen participants beyond the verification we describe in the Community Guidelines, or guarantee outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Menna is not responsible for any interaction, statement, injury, loss, or damage arising out of or in connection with any meetup.
7. Group Chats
Each meetup has a group chat available only to approved attendees. Chats become read-only approximately 24 hours after the meetup ends. Menna may review chat content as needed to investigate reports and enforce these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
8. Community Conduct
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms. Without limiting them, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other members
- Post sexually explicit content, hate speech, or violent threats
- Use Menna for illegal activity or to facilitate it
- Use Menna primarily as a marketplace, for unsolicited commercial promotion, or for multi-level marketing
- Scrape, copy, or reproduce Menna's database of events or members
- Misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with Menna
- Attempt to disrupt or interfere with the Service
9. Reports, Blocks, and Enforcement
You can report another member or block them at any time from their profile. We review reports through a combination of automated tools and human moderators and may take action ranging from a warning to permanent removal. In serious cases, for example, threats of violence or activity involving minors, we may contact law enforcement.
10. Event Submissions
itsmenna.com and the app accept event submissions from organizers and the community. All submissions are subject to editorial review; we may edit, shorten, decline, or remove any submission at our discretion. Submission does not guarantee publication. You are responsible for the accuracy of submitted information and for notifying us with reasonable notice (at least one week) of changes, cancellations, or updates. Menna is not liable for outdated or incorrect submitted content.
11. Third-Party Events, Links, and Services
Many events on Menna are organized by third parties. We do not control, organize, or guarantee them, and we do not endorse any event, artist, brand, or venue by featuring it. You are responsible for verifying details directly with organizers, ticketing platforms, or venues.
The Service may link to or integrate with third-party services (Instagram, Eventbrite, Ticketmaster, Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Supabase, and others). Once you leave Menna, the third party's terms and privacy practices apply.
12. Intellectual Property
All Menna content, including text, editorial curation, branding, logos, design elements, and the underlying compilation of events, is owned by MENNA LLC unless otherwise stated. You may share Menna content with attribution; you may not republish full content without permission, use our branding commercially, or reproduce our database of events or members.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content will be accurate or reliable.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MENNA LLC, its officers, members, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, including attendance at any meetup or event listed through the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD $100).
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MENNA LLC and its officers, members, employees, and agents from any claim, liability, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section limits your rights under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be waived by contract.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
