Naza

Naza is an urgent documentary that pulls back the curtain on the systems behind Israel's calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Directed by Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, the film emerges from three years of secret conversations on Tel Aviv rooftops with the people who designed and operated these systems — a rare window into how dehumanization functions at scale.

Abrahm and Szor made this film out of what they describe as an obligation to use their position as Israeli journalists to examine the machinery their country has built. Many of the film's revelations were published immediately by The Guardian, +972 Magazine, and Local Call as the filmmakers uncovered them in the months after October 7th. But the documentary goes deeper than journalism alone can: it captures not just what is said, but the silences — the unspoken architecture of a system designed to kill.

The directors' statement is clear: "It is up to all of us to break that silence." Running 80 minutes in Hebrew and English with English subtitles, Naza screens at BAM Rose Cinemas in Fort Greene. General admission is $17 ($12 for members, plus a $2 handling fee per ticket). This is the kind of film that demands to be seen in a room full of people.
