Here Where We Live Is Our Country: The Story of the Jewish Bund

Award-winning artist and author Molly Crabapple discusses her new book about the Jewish Labor Bund with Professor Emeritus Rashid Khalidi—a conversation about a secular, socialist political movement that fought for dignity and equality in eastern Europe rather than territorial nationalism. Crabapple's work reanimates the Bund's extraordinary history through portraits of insurgent poets, clandestine revolutionaries, and idealists whose stories interweave with the Russian Revolution and the Holocaust, offering lessons for our current moment of resurgent nationalism and the struggle for belonging.

Molly Crabapple is an award-winning artist and author known for her illustrated journalism and graphic narratives. Rashid Khalidi is Professor Emeritus at Columbia University and a leading scholar of Middle Eastern history and politics.

The event takes place in a lecture hall on the third floor of Pulitzer Hall. Registration is required, and food will be served. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
