A Tree That Raised You
Thursday, November 5 · 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM · Cobble Hill
A short film screening and documentary collage workshop led by director Hana Elias, exploring how we build narratives from fragments of memory and place. Hana is working on an archival-heavy documentary that weaves together three generations of her family's returns to Palestine — and she's inviting you into her creative process.
The evening starts with a screening, then shifts into a hands-on collage workshop. You'll bring an object from your own archive — a photo, a poem, a text message, a twig, whatever speaks to you — and work with it alongside three guided questions: "What is a tree that raised you?" "If you could ask the soil a question, what would it be?" and "What are the roots of your resistance?" By the end, you'll have the seed of an idea to carry forward into your own creative practice.
FMFM is an intimate Brooklyn space. The workshop runs two hours, in person. Refunds available up to seven days before the event.
