Armenian Viticulture Preservation Night
Saturday, July 11 · 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM · Midtown
Join us at The People's Forum for an evening exploring the cultural history, food traditions, and agricultural heritage of Armenia through the lens of ancient viticulture preservation — while supporting the production of 'Gini', an immersive documentary amplifying the underrepresented stewards preserving Armenia’s ancient agricultural traditions. More than a story about wine, the evening will explore how sustainable farming practices, foodways and intergenerational knowledge shape cultural identity and survival across the Armenian Highlands and Levant — regions deeply affected by conflict, displacement, and cultural erasure. The evening will feature: Light noshing by Zainab Saeed of The Gathering Table, inspired by Levantine viticultural traditions Curated wine tasting, featuring traditional Armenian and Levantine wines alongside grape-based non-alcoholic drinks Guest speaker Roni Ginach – founder of Roni Selects – on traditional winemaking SWANA bops and Habibi funk by Babagamoush Donation Tiers: Proceeds from the evening will directly support the film’s September production period during Armenia’s grape harvest season. DONATION TIERS $100 — Supports one day of travel for interviews and vineyard visits $250 — Supports two days of local Armenian production labor $500 — Supports larger production goals and includes a special thanks credit in the film Together, the evening seeks to foster cultural preservation and exchange through the unique prism of ancient viticulture while challenging Eurocentric narratives surrounding the origins and history of winemaking. Special thanks to our sponsors: Storica Wines & Terra Sancta Imports.
