Paperheart virtual retreat

A 3.5-hour virtual creative retreat designed for writers and artists who want to reconnect with their practice, find inspiration, and make real progress on work that matters. Think of it as part creative sanctuary, part communal studio—a dedicated space for making without the pressure.

Hosted by Hala Alyan and Safia Elhillo, both accomplished writers rooted in SWANA literary traditions, the retreat opens with a grounding meditation and intention-setting before moving into guided creative work sprints. You'll have focused time to work on a project of your choosing, punctuated by gentle breaks and connection opportunities. Midway through, there's an Inspiration Swap where you'll exchange ideas with fellow artists and discover new creative energy. A creative prompt invites play and experimentation throughout.

The retreat closes with informal office hours with Hala and Safia—a chance to ask questions about writing craft, sustaining a creative practice, navigating publishing, working through creative blocks, or anything else on your mind.
