HALQA NIGHT presented by LUBDUB THEATRE CO
Sunday, November 15 · 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM · Prospect Heights
LubDub Theatre Co is throwing an evening built around *halqa*—that North African tradition of gathering in a circle for stories, music, poetry, and spectacle. This one celebrates their new production *The Magic Bullet*, a piece inspired by a 1856 French colonial magic show in Algeria, weaving stage illusion with archival history and personal narrative. Expect live performance, magic, music, food, and surprises.
LubDub Theatre Co is an NYC-based ensemble working at the intersections of science, magic, and myth—their work has traveled four continents and played venues from The Barbican to the Royal Dramatic Theatre of Sweden. They're known for ambitious, visceral theater with a focus on planetary emergency and repair.
The night happens at Farm. One, an indoor venue with ramped, stair-free access. Light bites and snacks are included; brick-oven pizza by Pizza Party and craft beverages are available for purchase. Doors open at 6:00, performances start at 7:00. Come as you are—comfort and a little sparkle encouraged. Your ticket supports the artists and the upcoming 2027 tour of *The Magic Bullet*. If cost is prohibitive, reach out to info@lubdubtheatre.com for sponsored ticket availability.
