Mohamed Araki: Sounds from Sudan

A live evening of Sudanese music led by Grammy-nominated musician Mohamed Araki. The band blends traditional Sudanese songs and oud with modern grooves, bringing songs rooted in memory, rhythm, and community into a contemporary live sound.

Mohamed Araki leads on vocal and oud, joined by Mohamed Tahir on vocal and oud, Dillon Zahner on guitar and percussion, Marwan Allam on bass, Bez on drums, and Gideon Forbes on saxophone. The ensemble moves between traditional and contemporary arrangements, anchored by Araki's voice and instrumental work.

The People's Forum is a community space in Hell's Kitchen. The event runs two hours and is in-person. Refunds are available up to 10 days before the event.
