Gilgamesh

Theotokos presents a brand new performance of The Epic of Gilgamesh, one of the world's oldest surviving stories, told in poetry and music. This is ancient Mesopotamian literature — the kind of text that shaped everything that came after it — brought to life in a contemporary theatrical setting.

The performance runs two hours and takes place in an intimate church space on the Lower East Side. Expect a production that honors the epic's mythic weight while making it feel immediate and alive.
