"Cutting Through Rocks" Screening and Q&A

A free screening of the Oscar-nominated documentary "Cutting Through Rocks" (2025), which premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. The film follows Sara Shahverdi, the first female councilor in her Iranian village, as she challenges tradition by teaching girls to ride motorcycles and fighting child marriage. Directors Sara Khaki (SVA MFA alum) and Mohammadreza Eyni will join for a Q&A moderated by SVA student Ita Ruiz.
