Kéfi! (Belly) Dance Party

The spirit of the night is κέφι. There is no true English translation but kefi describes a sense of immense joy, excitement, and zest for life expressed through music, dance, laughter, and community. Come and channel your inner Fifi, Helena, Sohair, Boubouka, Auntie, true self…come express! No dance experience required, this is a low stakes social dance party. We are all amateurs here just having fun and carrying the culture in that fun, in that κέφι! Your best belly dance attire encouraged. Some hips scarves will be available to borrow. Bring fingers cymbals if you have any! The playlist will include Greek, Arabic, and beyond. We are so lucky to the have amazing DJ Farah hosting with us! All people and cultures are welcome! Let’s spread the joy! We will dance until we can’t dance anymore! Éla! Yalla! Barzakh Café also offers a curated selection of small plates and drinks.
