Agora

A Tunisian mystery thriller that unfolds in a remote town where people presumed dead suddenly reappear, sparking an investigation that spirals into something far stranger. Director Ala Eddine Slim crafts a slow-burn narrative about disappearance and return, exploring how communities fracture when the impossible becomes real.

The film follows local police inspector Fathi and his doctor friend Amine as they attempt to unravel what happened to the missing townspeople. When a capital police inspector named Omar arrives to take over the case, the investigation deepens—but so does the mystery. Slim, a Tunisian filmmaker, brings a distinctly North African sensibility to genre storytelling, grounding the surreal in intimate human drama.

Screened in Arabic with English subtitles, this 102-minute film plays in DCP format. Tickets start at $18, with a $28 option that includes a $10 donation to The Sameer Project. The cinema offers a full bar and dining menu, and you can arrive anytime before the 7 PM start.
