Dawoud the Renegade Sufi

Dawoud Kringle—composer, improviser, and sonic architect—brings his visionary practice to Barzakh Cafe for an evening of music that dismantles the old and rebuilds with fire and grace. This is a rare chance to experience a renegade Sufi's approach to sound: iconoclastic, deeply rooted, and utterly alive.

Dawoud works at the intersection of spiritual practice and sonic innovation, drawing from SWANA traditions while forging something entirely his own. His improvisations are acts of resistance and creation, each performance a conversation between heritage and the unknown.

Barzakh Cafe is a intimate gathering space in Bed-Stuy—the kind of venue where you can feel the room breathe. Doors open at 6 PM; the performance runs through 8 PM. Bring cash if you can, arrive early to settle in, and prepare for something that won't fit neatly into any category.
