A Night of Comedy and Music with Rufat, Yedoye, and Or Bareket

A night of stand-up comedy and live music with three Brooklyn-based performers bringing sharp writing, eclectic sounds, and cross-cultural perspectives to the stage.

Rufat Agayev is a Brooklyn stand-up known for clever observations and big act-outs. Born in Azerbaijan and raised as a refugee of war, he moved through hip-hop before pivoting to comedy—his debut special, The Bad Rufat!, was filmed in a former Yugoslavian mob bar turned record shop. Yedoye Travis is a comedian and writer who's worked for Netflix, NBC, and DC Comics; his comedy skews political and philosophical, the kind that makes you think rather than just laugh. Or Bareket, born in Jerusalem to Moroccan, Iraqi, Argentinian, and Eastern European parents, is one of the most prominent bassists of his generation—a composer and bandleader whose music weaves North African, Iraqi, and Latin-American folklores with Black American music traditions. He'll be performing with his quartet featuring saxophonist Godwin Louis, pianist Jeremy Corren, and drummer Savannah Harris.
