In-Store: Zaina Arafat: Our Arab w/ Daniel Poppick

Zaina Arafat, Lambda Literary Award-winning author of *You Exist Too Much*, reads from her new essay collection *Our Arab: On Longing, Belonging, and Hope*—a meditation on diaspora, Palestinian identity, and what home means when you're scattered across continents. Arafat's work moves between Nablus, Amman, the Appalachian Mountains, and Manhattan, holding multiple truths at once: fierce pride, bitter loss, righteous anger, and radical compassion.

Daniel Poppick joins as interlocutor. The event includes a signing afterward. Each ticket comes with either a copy of the book or a $10 gift card; additional copies available for purchase.

Books Are Magic is a beloved independent bookstore in Brooklyn Heights, founded by NYT bestselling author Emma Straub. The space is intimate and welcoming.
