Poetry Overnight at BAM

BAM's first Poetry Overnight is exactly what it sounds like: a poetry reading that goes all night long, with featured readers, special guests, and unique collaborations. Curated by Hanif Abdurraqib, the MacArthur "Genius" and BAM Curator at Large, this is year three of his transdisciplinary poetry series *I Guess It Was My Destiny To Live So Long*, honoring the legacy of June Jordan — and this time he's raising the stakes by pulling an all-nighter.

Abdurraqib will read alongside fellow BAM curator Helga Davis and a roster of major talent, with Jon Goode hosting. The event is designed for you to come and go as you please throughout the night — bring comfortable clothes and a sleeping bag if you want to stay for the whole thing, or drop in for a few hours and catch some of the performances.

Admission is free and first-come, first-served, with capacity limited. RSVP doesn't guarantee entry but helps BAM prepare and keeps you in the loop on any updates. The space is intimate and the vibe is communal — expect a night that moves between featured readings, collaborations, and the kind of poetry that rewards staying up to hear it.
