Triage

Claudia Rankine, one of the most vital voices in contemporary literature, discusses her newest book *Triage* with writer Rachel Kaadzi Ghansah. It's a conversation about a work that defies easy categorization — part lyric, part narrative, part memoir, part essay, all of it urgent.

*Triage* follows the turbulent friendship between two characters grappling with their histories and their separate-but-shared understanding of our current political moment. Rankine has spent her career widening what literature can do and say, and this book — her first after the celebrated American trilogy — is her most personal and emotionally resonant work yet. The conversation with Ghansah, a writer based in Brooklyn, will dig into what Rankine calls "the necessity of grieving and the demand for action in our time of relentless loss."

The event takes place in BAM Fisher's Fishman Space, a venue known for intimate talks and readings. Tickets are pay-what-you-wish, available at $10, $20, or $30 — a sliding scale that makes the conversation accessible.
