Measures of a Distance (1988) & Ghost Tropic (2019)

A double feature screening of two films: Measures of a Distance (1988), directed by Mona Hatoum, explores displacement and loss as a war exile in London through footage of her mother with letters sent from Beirut. Ghost Tropic (2019), written and directed by Bas Devos, follows a middle-aged Maghrebi cleaning woman navigating nocturnal Brussels streets after falling asleep on the subway. This film accompanies the exhibition Immigrant Nation: People in Transit.
