Bouchra

A playful animation/live-action hybrid film by Meriem Bennani and Orian Barki following a queer Moroccan jackal filmmaker navigating creative crises, family tensions with her mother in Casablanca, and expat life in NYC. Drawing on real phone calls and correspondences, this autofiction explores the emotional reckoning of straddling two cultures while belonging fully to neither.
