Once Upon a Time in Beirut
Friday, July 10 · 6:15pm · Lower East Side
A singular docufiction by director Jocelyne Saab following two young women, one Muslim and one Christian, as they search for the memory of their brutalized city Beirut through the collection of old film prints held by an aged cinema owner. This stirring homage to Lebanon's cinematic past and the power of moving images was born from efforts to rebuild the Lebanese national film archive after the Civil War. Screening in 35mm as part of the Jocelyne Saab: Letters from Lebanon series.
