Summer Sounds in Solidarity

Summer Sounds in Solidarity will be an afternoon rooted in connection, community, collective care, and creative expression. Together, through music and dance, we’ll use the power of joy and resilience as resistance to celebrate women, non-binary, and trans folks in visionary practice. Alumni of We Are The DJ will spin their own unique sounds throughout the day, representing corners of cultures across the globe. Tickets are available via Posh on a pay-what-you-can basis, with a $10 donation strongly encouraged. Ticket sales and a portion of beverage sales will benefit benefit the following causes in support of women that are near and dear to our community: Women for Afghan Women - A grassroots organization empowering Afghan women and girls in both Afghanistan and the U.S. to realize their full potential and advocate for their rights, while challenging societal norms to create lasting change and advance gender equality. Haven for Artists - A cultural feminist organization at the intersection of art and activism, based in Beirut, Lebanon. Haven is a physical and digital platform supporting cultural works and knowledge production rooted in intersectional feminism, gender and racial justice, and decolonial practices. Children of Persia - A humanitarian organization, Children of Persia promotes the wellbeing of underprivileged children and their families, in health, education and social services in Iran and elsewhere in the world, through opportunities to learn, lead a healthy and positive life, thrive in their journey with hope for a better future, and in turn contribute to the betterment of their community and the society at large. Summer Sounds in Solidarity is presented in partnership with Back Home Beer and Las Chingonas Imports. BiBi Bakery will also be popping up with Iranian-inspired baked goods. DJ line-up to be announced this week.
