MARYAM TURKEY. Saturdays in June

Maryam Turkey, an Iraqi-American musician and visual artist, performs music blending haunting vocals, raw storytelling, and hypnotic rhythms, singing primarily in Arabic. Her live performance incorporates sampler, live percussion, and collaborations with experimental musicians. She reinterprets Iraqi folk music through a contemporary, genre-fluid lens from her debut album Hiragt el Rouh.
