Phantom Beirut: Film Screening with Cinema Arabiyya

Ghassan Salhab's 1998 debut film set in Lebanon at the end of the '80s follows Khalil as he returns to Beirut under a new identity, confronting old friends after faking his death a decade earlier. This haunting exploration of collective amnesia and conflict is co-presented by ArteEast and Cinema Arabiyya, with an introduction by writer and film programmer Hicham Awad.
