The Umm Kulthum Workshop

A concert series dedicated to presenting the long-form works of Egyptian diva Umm Kulthum in their full scope, featuring Mona Miari and Sami Abu Shumays. The workshop revives the performance practice of repetition, improvisation, and musical expansion — hallmarks of the tarab tradition in Arabic music.
