New York Oud Festival 2026 Day 6 | Ameer Armaly

This program presents the evolution of oud playing throughout the twentieth century in the Arab World through recordings, followed by a live performance. Ameer Armaly, who studied under Simon and Najib Shaheen, leads an Arabic music ensemble and will showcase how the oud evolved from a simple accompaniment instrument to one of virtuosity and compositional creativity.
