Remembering Little Syria Walking Tour with Asad Dandia

A walking tour led by Asad Dandia retracing the footsteps of the first Arab immigrants to North America in Manhattan's former 'Little Syria' neighborhood. Participants will explore the historic Syrian Quarter in the Financial District, where the first Arabic-speaking community settled in the late 1800s, and learn about landmarks like the printing of Kawkab America (the first Arabic-language newspaper in the US) and the Pen League of Arab writers including Kahlil Gibran.
