Palestine '36

Directed by Annemarie Jacir, Palestine '36 chronicles the 1936 uprising against Britain's 30-year colonial project in Mandatory Palestine. Anchored by performances from Hiam Abbass and Saleh Bakri, this is the only feature to shoot in Palestine in the last two years. The film follows Yusuf as he oscillates between his rural home and an increasingly restless Jerusalem during this critical historical moment.
